Amy Price will explore this issue in depth and reveal the different ways to approach job exploration to find opportunities. She will discuss how to utilize the Discovery process, how to explore a person's gifts and skills, and ways to use the community to support the process. This webinar is for job seekers, family members, and providers. Each group is strongly encouraged to participate in this discussion.

Join us for an overview of this new training credential! In response to the question included in the National Core Indicators: Are employment services and supports included in ISPs? Georgia lags significantly behind the country. (Georgia’s = 13% while the national average = 26%)1 Support Coordination plays a vital and critical role in the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Staff are often looked to for advice, support in decision-making, and information related to the various options in employment services. It’s important that staff have accurate details about funding, benefits, public programs, and the various paths to achieve employment and generate income. Providers, Support Coordinators, and Families will benefit from this overview.

Join us for a discussion about the legislation to prevent paying Georgians with disabilities subminimum wages. HR 1125 did not pass this year. We must continue to work together to phase out the practice of subminimum wages as has been done in Tennessee and South Carolina. A significant part of successfully phasing out 14c in Georgia is ensuring individuals with I/DD have meaningful days based on personal choices. Dr. Tracy Rackensperger will lead a discussion on the following: The definition of meaningful days as based on true self-determination. How can providers and stakeholders modify practices to ensure meaningful days based on personal choices.
