NDEAM 2024

During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, or NDEAM, we celebrate the value and talent workers with disabilities add to America’s workplaces and economy. NDEAM takes place annually each October, but its purpose is to confirm our commitment to ensuring disabled workers have access to good jobs, every month of every year. That’s the spirit behind this year’s official theme:

“Access to Good Jobs for All.”

Advancing Employment will host four webinars throughout the month of October in celebration of NDEAM! All webinars are free, but you must register. â€‹

Topic:  Georgia Systems: Improvements, Progress, and the Future!

Date & Time: October 3, 2024, from 2 P.M. – 3 P.M.

  • Speaker: Christine Gudgin (DBHDD)

  • Sharon DeMille (GVRA)

  • Facilitator: Doug Crandell, IHDD, Advancing Employment

We invite you to join us as we discuss the progress we have made as a state and the challenges that lie before us. Systems change requires an honest baseline, the right personnel in the right positions, and a focus on how funding systems are perceived by core customers. Employment First, inclusion, and economic justice must drive what we do on a daily basis. Join us for an update, some celebration, and an eye for continuous quality improvement. Updates to include SELN, DB101, NDEAM, and demonstration grants.

We will ponder several questions: What can families and job seekers do to advance their employment search? What role do a job developer, employment specialist, and vocational rehabilitation counselor play in obtaining a job? Do co-workers, supervisors, and others in a person’s work environment contribute to a person’s success? This is an important topic for parents, providers, and vocational rehabilitation personnel.
